Engr. Adedeji  Doherty is not a newcomer to the national political stage ; he  ran for office  as governor of
Lagos State in 2015.     

He is a loyal and steadfast member of the People Democratic Party  (PDP) of Nigeria with a record of  no defection. Member state Elders Council , Member State Apex Council, Member Extended State  Caucus. He was Zonal Secretary PDP South - West, Zonal Organizing Secretary South-West and Acting Vice -Chairman, South -West of the party.

Engr. Adedeji  Doherty  is the Executive Chairman , of  DAIN GROUP OF COMPANIES,  incorporated  in 1986, the Dain Group of Companies is widely diversified and innovative organization involved in Manufacturing , Textile , Plastic and Food Packaging , Construction , Agric and Allied Business, Real Estate Development, Logistics  and Event Management.

As the Executive  Chairman of the Group , he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to bear on the strategic implementation of the company's objectives.

He provides overall leadership and direction for the group.

  Early  
CHILDHOOD LIFE 

 Engr. Adedeji  Doherty  was born in the famous Doherty  Dynasty  in Lagos , with family settlement at Popo Aguda Area of Lagos on 9th March 1962 to the family of  Dr. And Mrs . J.A  Doherty.  He started his educational career at Maryhill Covenant School , ibadan , thereafter he proceeded to Loyal College also in ibadan  for his Secondary Education. He completed his Secondary Education. He Completed his Secondary School Education at C.M.S Grammar School , Bariga , Lagos.

A brilliant student at the time , Engr. Doherty  passed his West  African School Certificate Examination and gained admission to at Central State  University , Xenia , Ohio USA. He was awarded an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering and B.S.C  in Industrial Technology . He returned to the country in 1986 and took up employment with Triplex safety Glass limited while serving as a Youth Corper.

                                POLITICAL  CAREER    

Engr. Adedeji Doherty  joined  politics in 1999, when  he became a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A visionary , challenge -driven , successful professional , leader in business and community development , has received several achievements and recorded several local and international awards.
 A natural and persuasive  communicator , recognized amongst his peers for keen ability to energize and inspire people to work towards a common goal, Engr. Doherty has shown resilience and forthrightness in all his dealings , both in business and politics . A goal- getter and achiever.
A close aaly of Late Barr. Doherty who happens to be his uncle , and a close associate of  Late Chief  Obafemi Awolowo political pedigree transcends his time and projects him as a seasoned politician.

PERSONAL LIFE 
Engr . Doherty is married and he's blessed with children .
An  independent - minded  man with an  even-keel temperament and a knack for consensus - buiding . He is a wonderful father and husband. His values are  strongly shaped by his experience as a good christian . While private by nature . Engr. Doherty  mingles easily with others especially his friends.
He is known for being unafraid to speak and hear hard truths when necessary. Engr. Doherty is a passionate leader with an incredible vision for youths development and empowerment
